Career Summary

Ankur brings 23 years of cross-functional experience in management consulting, business development and operations in the backdrop of working in India, Greater China and Europe.He is a published author. His first non-fiction titled WASTED was released in 2019 by Pan Macmillan  India. This book traces India’s failed tryst with Sanitation and Urban Planning and won the Valley of Words (VoW) Non-Fiction Book Prize in 2020.  He writes columns on Economy, Retail, Urbanism and Environment

Industry Experience

His advisory and research focus areas include Retail, Circular Economy, Sanitation, E-commerce and Digital spaces. He has advised global and Indian private equity companies, retailers, consumer brands, think tanks, sovereign institutions on growth strategy, impact assessment, evidence-based policy support, marketing, business transformation, digital enablement and operational excellence. Prior to joining Technopak, Ankur worked with the Tata Group in operations and consulting roles for nearly a decade. He was the Country Manager in China for Tata International and was responsible for growing the business in new segments in the fashion and lifestyle space. He has also worked with Tata Quality Management Services (an internal consulting division of Tata Group) and advised Tata organizations in the consumer products and retail domain on growth, performance improvement, sales strategy, customer segmentation and go-to-market themes. He was briefly associated with a start-up in Affordable Housing, where he was responsible for conceptualizing the business strategy in the area

Education

Ankur holds an MBA from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK. He completed his undergraduate and post graduate studies from NCHR&CT, PUSA New Delhi and Devi Ahilya University, Indore India.
